WELCOME MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT [AS OF JUNE 2021]

Dear, PENSA Community


Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide which impacts on health care burden as well as people health and quality of life, our key focus might be realized how to maximize effectiveness of patient care. Taken into the concern of duty of our members as health care professions during the past few months, safety of participants, as well as scientific purpose of the meeting, the PENSA Congress Organizing Committee works very hard for the best quality of the Congress. The 21st PENSA Congress 2021 is still confirmed to be held during October 14th – 16th, 2021 at the BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition to the on-site meeting, online option is also available for members with travel restriction.

Additionally, the committee has decided to extend the deadline for abstract submission from May 31st, 2021 to June 30th, 2021. For participants with travel barriers, online presentation is available. All of submitted abstracts are still eligible for Research awards, either oral or poster presentation category.

We pray for people who suffered from the pandemic. We also extend the appreciation for dedication of all heath care professions and all related personnel. We hope the situation would become better soon. We wish all of you stay safe and healthy. We are looking forward to seeing you in Bangkok.

Research awards will be classified into 2 categories.
1) PENSA award for oral presentation: supported by PENSA center

1st prize – 500 USD
2nd prize – 300 USD
3rd prize – 200 USD

2) Poster presentation award: supported by Chomchark Chuntrasakul Research Foundation

1st prize – 300 USD
2nd prize – 200 USD
3rd prize – 100 USD

In addition, Certificate will be provided for all award recipients.

The Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA)

The Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA) is a society for Asian physicians and personnel working in nutritional support, The society was founded on May 6, 1995 at a meeting in Chiang Rai, Thailand, by a group of physicians from Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Pakistan and Thailand. It was founded to provide a forum in which Physicians practicing nutritional support for hospitalized patients could address and exchange clinical experiences and scientific data in nutritional sciences that are unique to this region. Since that time the society has experienced great growth. The Congress of PENSA was a special academic meeting for people practicing nutritional support.
